Archetypes

At level 20, the game reveals your archetype — a career identity based on how you played the prologue. This isn’t a class you choose from a menu. It emerges from your actions.

How Archetypes Are Determined

Each archetype has a formula based on two affinities:

Score = Primary Affinity × 0.6 + Secondary Affinity × 0.4

The game evaluates your affinity profile against every archetype formula. The one with the highest score wins. If you spent the prologue doing lots of Technical and Innovation quests, you’ll likely become an Engineer.

The Four Core Archetypes

ArchetypePrimarySecondaryIdentity
EngineerTechnicalInnovationBuilds things and invents solutions. The hands-on creator.
PilotResolveTechnicalHandles pressure and understands systems. Cool under fire.
ScientistAnalyticsInnovationResearches, discovers, and pushes boundaries of knowledge.
ManagerCommandAnalyticsLeads people and makes data-driven decisions. The strategist.

Future Archetypes

The system supports up to 10 archetypes (every unique pair of the 5 affinities). Six additional archetypes are planned:

What Your Archetype Means

Starting Service

Your archetype determines which tycoon service you can launch first. This is your agency’s initial revenue stream:

ArchetypeStrong BlueprintsLikely First Service
EngineerPropulsion + R&DSatellite Launch, Fuel Depot
PilotLife Support + PropulsionSpace Tourism, Cargo Delivery
ScientistNavigation + R&DDeep Space Exploration, Earth Observation
ManagerOperations + NavigationCargo Delivery, Space Tourism

Long-Term Impact

Your archetype flavors your experience but doesn’t limit it. Every player can eventually unlock every service and pursue every contract. The archetype gives you a head start in one direction, but the tycoon phase rewards diversification.

Can I Influence My Archetype?

Absolutely — by choosing which quests to prioritize. Here’s the general flow:

  1. Levels 1–5: All affinities grow roughly equally. You’re sampling everything.
  2. Levels 6–15: Quests carry stronger affinity weights. Picking Technical-heavy quests will pull your Technical score ahead.
  3. Levels 16–20: Your top affinities solidify. The gap between your strongest and weakest becomes significant.

The game is designed so your natural preferences lead to a satisfying reveal. If you enjoyed the engineering quests, you’ll become an Engineer. It’s organic, not forced.

Can I Change My Archetype?

No. Your archetype is assigned once at level 20 and reflects your prologue journey. But remember — it’s a starting point, not a cage. The tycoon phase is about growing beyond your initial specialization.
