Tycoon Services

When you found your agency at level 20, you begin by launching your first service — a revenue-generating operation. Over time, you’ll unlock additional services to diversify your agency and grow your interplanetary empire.

How to Unlock a Service

To launch a new service, you need:

  1. Blueprint requirements met — the right count of blueprints in the required categories
  2. Minimum agency level — some services have level gates
  3. Credit investment — services cost credits to establish

Your First Service

Your archetype determines which service you can launch first:

ArchetypeBlueprint StrengthsLikely First Service
EngineerPropulsion + R&DSatellite Launch, Fuel Depot
PilotLife Support + PropulsionSpace Tourism, Cargo Delivery
ScientistNavigation + R&DDeep Space Exploration, Earth Observation
ManagerOperations + NavigationCargo Delivery, Space Tourism

This first service is your initial revenue stream. It generates the credits and reputation you need to grow.

Service Levels

Each service has a service level that represents capacity and quality. Higher service levels mean:

  • Access to more difficult (and more profitable) missions
  • Eligibility for premium contracts
  • Better mission outcome quality

Service levels increase through successful mission completions and investment.

Diversification Strategy

The late-game loop is about expanding into new services:

  1. Earn blueprints from missions in categories you’re missing.
  2. Grow weaker affinities to meet requirements for different service types.
  3. Invest credits to launch the new service.
  4. Assign crew who specialize in the new service’s affinity requirements.

This creates a natural progression: start narrow with your archetype’s strength, then broaden over time. An Engineer who started with Satellite Launch might expand into Fuel Depot (shared Propulsion requirement), then push into Asteroid Mining or Deep Space Exploration as they grow their Navigation and R&D capabilities.

Service–Contract Relationship

Each contract is tied to a specific service. You can only accept contracts for services you’ve unlocked. More services means more contract opportunities, which means more revenue streams and reduced risk from depending on a single client type.
